5/13 - 5/17

This week we will continue working on our Pop Show songs. We also have our annual Choir Banquet coming up on May 30th. Tickets will be on sale from Mr. Tietge starting this week. Please check with Mr. Tietge for pricing and more information.

4/29 - 5/3

This week we will continue working on our Pop Show songs. We will also begin to add choreography to our Pop Show this week so students should bring some comfortable shoes and clothes to wear during the rehearsal time. We are getting closer to the end of the school year so please be sure to continually check calendars to stay up to date on what we are doing at school and in choir!!

4/15 - 4/18

This week we will continue working on our Pop Show music for our upcoming Pop Show Concert in May! 

4/8 - 4/12

Congratulations to all of our choir students who participated and competed in UIL Concert & Sight-Reading last week on April 3. We had three different choir participate - the NV Men's Choir, the NV Mixed Choir, and the Varsity Treble choir. Each of the groups did amazing and received high ratings the NV Men's group received 2-2-1 on stage and 3-3-4 in sight-reading. The NV Mixed Choir received 1-1-1 on stage and 1-2-2 in Sight-Reading. The Varsity Treble group received 1-1-1 on stage and 2-2-2 in Sight-Reading. Please be sure to congratulate all of the students on their hard work and success.

4/1 - 4/5

This week is our UIL Concert & Sight-Reading competition. April 3rd we will travel over to FUMC in Dickinson to compete. Students will need to arrive at SFHS no later than 6:30am on Wednesday to make sure we have plenty of time to get ready. Please make sure students that you are getting plenty of rest in preparation for UIL.

3/25 - 3/29

This week is our last week of rehearsals before UIL Concert and Sight-Reading next week!! Please be sure that you are at every rehearsal this week, especially on the days when we have clinicians coming from out of town to work with us!

More information about UIL will be passed out and sent home this week along with a permission slip. 

2/25 - 3/1

This past weekend we had our UIL Solo & Ensemble competition. We have 22 students who will be advancing to the state level in June for their solo and 1 ensemble that will also be going. Please help us congratulate all of the choir students on all of their hard work!!

2/11 - 2/15

We will continue to practice for Solo & Ensemble this week and next. Our competition will be on February 23rd at Manvel HS.We are also continuing our practice of UIL Concert & Sight-Reading during class. Students should be practicing their music outside of class to be better prepared during class and for competition. 

2/4 - 2/8

These next few weeks we will be practicing for UIL Solo & Ensemble at Manvel HS. Students need to make sure to have their music memorized before February 23rd. We will meet at SFHS on that morning and then head over to Manvel HS together on a bus. 

We are also starting to prepare for UIL Concert & Sight-Reading which will be in April. Students need to make sure they are passing all of their classes for both of these events since it is a UIL event. Students use your time wisely! 

Lastly, we are so excited to have a successful weekend for Mamma Mia. Students have been working hard since November to prepare for this and it showed this past weekend. There were 4 performances and there was a standing ovation at all 4 performances. Please be sure to congratulate these students if you see them!

1/14 - 1/18

Welcome back! We hope everyone had a restful break!! In class we are starting to work on our UIL Concert & Sight-Reading music for our contest in April. Students will also get the chance to work on their Solo's and Ensemble's for the UIL Solo & Ensemble competition on February 23rd. This competition will be hosted by Manvel HS but we will all be travelling together on that day. We are also getting ready for our All-District Musical "Mamma Mia" which opens to the public on Jan. 31st and runs through Feb. 2nd. We hope everyone will come out and support our cast and crew in this production as it will surely be one to remember!!

11/12 - 11/16

14 students from SFHS Choir participated in the TMEA Region 17 All-Region Concert at Blocker MS on Saturday, November 10th. There were 3 combined choirs consisting of students from schools all across our region (Clear Creek ISD, Texas City ISD, Friendswood ISD, Brazoswood ISD, Angleton ISD, and more). There were 450 students total between the 3 combined choirs and this year with 14 is the most we have ever had participate in this concert! Please help us recognize the following students:

11/5 - 11/9

This week we will continue preparing for our upcoming Madrigal Dinner performances on December 7th & 8th. Also, Wednesday, November 7th, anyone going to Ren Fest will need to be sure and meet near the field house no later than 6:10am. We will depart shortly after that to head to Ren Fest. Also, Thursday, November 8th, anyone a part of the All-Region Concert will be out for a clinic in Galveston. On November 10th, SFHS will have 14 students participating in the All-Region Concert between the three choirs. Please come out to Blocker MS in Texas City to support these students at 5:30pm!!

10/29 - 11/2

This week we will be preparing for our upcoming Madrigal Dinner performances on December 7th & 8th. All HS choir students will be required to perform in this performance if they are eligible. We also have our All-Region concert and clinic next Saturday, November 10th at Blocker MS in Texas City. Please come out and support Santa Fe and our students involved in this performance!! 

10/22 - 10/26

This past weekend the Santa Fe HS Choir took 18 students to the All-Region & Region Concert Choir auditions. Out of 18 students, 11 of SFHS Choir students will be performing in the Region Concert on November 10th in at least 1 of 3 choirs. Please help us congratulate them as they prepare for that concert!

10/9 - 10/12

This week we will have our first concert of the year!!! We are so excited to get the chance to perform for each other as well as friends, family, and members of the community. We hope you will join us on Thursday, October 11th at 7 pm in the High School Auditorium. This concert will be fun and enjoyable for all! 

We will be singing several songs from all ranges of genres including a song titled "Banaha" featuring soloist Skyler S. We also have the junior high school choir that will be performing as well as a few of the high school band students joining us for some fun percussion pieces. 

Also, don't forget those that are auditioning for Region Concert Choir or All-Region that we will be having Mock Auditions next week before our competition at Clear Lake HS on October 20th.

10/1 - 10/5

These next few days students from all classes will be preparing for our Fall Concert on October 11th at 7:00pm in the High School Auditorium. Students will be expected to wear their formal wear that will be provided by the choir department, but will need to provide their own black socks and shoes. We hope you will join us for this concert as we are very excited to show off all of our hard work from the first few months of school!

9/24 - 9/28

This past weekend 23 choir students from SFHS headed to Angleton HS to audition for the first round of the TMEA All-State process for the District round. Out of 23 students, 12 students will be advancing from SFHS!!!! This is more than twice as many students as we had advance from last year!!! Over 700 students from all over the region auditioned from several different high schools so this is a huge accomplishment! Please help me congratulate the following students the next time you see them:

This week we had a few students audition for a song during 2nd and 7th period choir. I wanted to say thank you to all that audition and announce that the following students will be singing the part that was auditioned during the song at our upcoming fall show on October 11th. 9/17 - 9/21

This weekend on Saturday 24 students will be competing at Angleton HS for the first round of auditions for TMEA All-District. Students will need to be sure to have a permission slip and pay their entry fee before they are allowed to leave. Also, students are not allowed to have their phones so they will need to bring something to keep them entertained as well as have some $$ for snacks/lunch at the concession stand. 

We are also still preparing for our upcoming concert on October 11th. We hope you will join us and consider donating a small donation to help us cover more of our costs throughout the school year! 

9/10 - 9/14

This week we will begin to prepare more for the upcoming All-District auditions at Angleton HS on September 22nd. We will also be working on our fall show music during class as well to prepare for our upcoming concert on October 11th. This year our fall show theme is called "Sing To Me".

9/3 - 9/7

This upcoming week we will be looking over some of our music for our upcoming Fall Show on October 11th at the HS. We will also be discussing the All-District/Region Concert Choir auditions that are coming up very soon!!!

8/27 - 8/31

 We had a wonderful first week of school last week! We are looking forward to a great school year!! This week we will be reviewing the Star-Spangled banner as well as looking over some of our music for our upcoming Fall Show on October 11th at the HS. We hope everyone has a great week!! Be looking for a calendar to come out this week with important dates and information.
