This week all choir students will be finishing up memorizing The Star-Spangled Banner!

We are also starting to look at our songs for our upcoming concert on November 10th which will be comprised of all Disney songs!

 

9/6 - 9/9

This week all choir students will be working on The Star-Spangled Banner for an upcoming performance at a Pep Rally!

Also, all choir students will continue working on sight-reading exercises and memorization for our Disney concert on November 10th. 

 

9/12 - 9/16

This week students will continue to practice sight-reading exercises and will also be adding new rhythm counting exercises.

We will also continue to work on songs for our upcoming concert on November 10th! 

 

 9/19 - 9/23

This week students will continue practicing their new rhythm counting exercises, along with solfege practice. We will also be getting ready to sing the National Anthem at an upcoming Pep Rally and singing songs for our upcoming concert.

 

9/26 - 9/30

 This week students will be learning new rhythms and practicing them. Students will also begin working on memorizing their music for their upcoming fall concert!

 

10/3 - 10/7

This week students will be finishing up their memorization for their fall show selections.

Also, students will have the opportunity to audition for solos/duets that are included in the "Disney Dazzle" piece on Thursday of this week during class!

 

10/11 - 10/14

This week students will be learning choreography for their upcoming fall show! Please be sure to remind students to wear comfortable shoes or bring them to change into while we are learning choreography!

 

10/17 - 10/21

CHOREOGRAPHY WEEK!! Students please be sure to wear comfortable shoes and clothes to be ready to practice in all this week! Our Fall Show is only a few weeks away!! 

 

10/24 - 10/28

This week students will be working on choreography on the auditorium stage. Students will need to make sure and wear comfortable shoes.

Students – don’t forget if you are interested in auditioning for a solo or duet to add to our fall show we will have auditions after school this week on THURSDAY **EDIT** at the high school in the choir room from 3:00 - 4:00pm.

Also, congratulations to the four students who auditioned this past week at All-Region auditions. All four ladies will participate in the All-Region Choir concert in November and another congratulation to Lauren S. who will get to audition in the next round for Pre-Area in December.

 

10/31 - 11/4

We are just a few days away from our Fall Show on November 10th @ 6:30 pm at the high school auditorium!! Students be sure to wear comfortable shoes while we are practicing on stage. Also, remember that there is no food, drink, or gum allowed on stage! 

 

11/7 - 11/11

What an amazing concert last week!!!! Thank you to everyone who came out and supported us! Now we are starting to look forward to our Winter Concert on Monday, December 12th at 6:30 pm in the HS auditorium. 

Another congratulations to Lauren S., Elizabeth H., Laramie T., and Victoria C. who participated in the TMEA All-Region Choir Concert this past Saturday!

Welcome back!! I hope everyone had an awesome Thanksgiving break! We will continue to work on our Christmas music that will be performed at our Christmas Cluster Concert on December 12th at 6:30 pm in the HS Auditorium!

 

12/5 - 12/9

This week we will continue working on our Christmas music for our Christmas Concert on December 12th at 6:30 pm in the HS Auditorium. Please remember we have a dress rehearsal on December 8th of this week from 3:00 - 6:00 pm at the HS Auditorium. This rehearsal is very important because it will be the one time we get to practice with everyone together! 

We would also like to send a special congratulations to Lauren S. for making it past the Pre-Area round of the All-State process. She was in the top 5 singers of her section!!! 

Recently we were awarded a grant for two new computer programs to help our students sight-read and also practice more individually. Also, we were awarded a grant to help us get brand NEW sound systems at the Junior High and High School!!! Thank you Santa Fe Texas Education Foundation for helping our students achieve more!! 

 

12/12 - 12/16

We hope you will join us for our Christmas Cluster Concert on Monday, December 12th at 7:00 pm. We will be performing with the Kubacak Choir as well as the HS Theatre Department.

1/9 - 1/13

We welcomed everyone back from the Christmas Break last week and we are super excited for this upcoming semester. We have a lot going on and we are going to try and keep everyone up to date on what is happening. This semester we have Solo & Ensemble competition, UIL Concert & Sight-Reading, Spring Show, and our annual Pop Show.  We look forward to all of these events and hope you will join us for all of them. 

Students, please remember to keep practicing your solo and/or ensemble. Competition will be on February 18th and we want everyone to be successful. If you are wanting to practice some please feel free to come by during advisory. 

Also, we as a Fine Arts team are preparing for our annual musical. This year we will be performing "High School Musical: ON STAGE" between January 27th to February 4th. More information to come!!

 

1/17 to 1/20

We are continuing to work on our UIL music this week. Students please continue to practice your solo and or ensemble as we prepare for competition on February 18th. 

Also, we hope you will join us for our annual musical, HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL: ON STAGE. More information is listed below. See you there! 

 

1/23 to 1/27

Students please be sure to continue practicing your solo and or ensemble!! We are less than one month away and the music and words must be memorized! Competition will be held at Angleton High School on February 18th, 2017. This is a Saturday and will most likely be an all day event. Your entrance fees have been paid for, we just ask that you help pay our accompanist fees. 

This week is our opening weekend of HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL: ON STAGE!!! Come out and support the choir, band, dance, art, and theater students who have been working hard on this musical for months now!! We're all in this together!

 

2/6 to 2/10

This week students will be finishing up memorizing their solo's for solo and ensemble competition coming up on February 18th! Please be sure to be prepared! 

Thank you to all of the wonderful people that helped us with our All-District musical! It was a huge success and we are already excited for next year!

 

2/13 to 2/17

This past weekend Lauren S. performed in the 2017 TMEA All-State Treble Choir in San Antonio. She was one of several thousand students who auditioned all across the state of Texas but only a few were selected to perform in this choir. 

This coming weekend on Feb. 18th several of the high school students will be competing in Solo & Ensemble at Angleton High School. Help me wish them luck as they continue to practice all this week!!

 

2/21 to 2/24

This past weekend 30 students sang at UIL Solo & Ensemble at Angleton High School. Out of the 30 students, 13 will be advancing to the state level. Every student was very successful in their solo and please help us congratulate all of these students as they prepare for the state level!!

We will now be preparing for our group UIL competition which will be in April. Also, anyone wanting to go with us on our trip please be sure to have the first payment in by the end of the month!! 

 

2/27 to 3/3

This week students will continue preparing for UIL competition in April. Students please don't forget that on Tuesday's all girls from 5th and 6th period will have rehearsal from 3:00 to 4:30 and on Thursday's all guys from 4th and 6th period will have rehearsal from 3:00 to 4:30 as well. 

This week is the last week to get in the money for the trip. It is going to be a lot of fun and we are going to make a lot of memories for many years to come!! Don't miss out on this fun, new tradition we are going to start!!!

 

3/20 to 3/24

This week students will continue preparing for UIL competition in April. Students please don't forget that on Tuesday's all girls from 5th and 6th period will have rehearsal from 3:00 to 4:30 and on Thursday's all guys from 4th and 6th period will have rehearsal from 3:00 to 4:30 as well.

This week students will continue preparing for UIL competition in April. Students please don't forget that on Thursday all students going to UIL from 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th period will have a concert. The call time will be 6:00 pm and the concert will start at 7:00 pm.

This week students will begin preparing for our upcoming Pop Show Concert at the end of May!!

Congratulations to all students who participated in UIL Concert & Sight-Reading last week. Our NV Treble group was awarded a Division 1 plaque for their skills in Sight-Reading. 

Congratulations to all students who participated in the JH UIL Solo & Ensemble. Out of the 10 students who participated 6 received 1's and a medal. 

 

4/17 to 4/21

This week students will continue preparing for our upcoming Pop Show Concert at the end of May!!

Our HS Choir Banquet is coming up very soon! Thursday, April 27th from 6-8 pm in the HS cafeteria. More information will be sent home this week about tickets and all other information! 

 

5/1 to 5/5

This week students will continue preparing for our upcoming Pop Show Concert at the end of May, on May 23rd!!

Our HS Choir Banquet was this past week and I want to thank everyone who helped set-up and break down all of the decorations and everything. It was an amazing banquet and I cannot wait for many more to come!! 

 

 

5/8 to 5/12

This week students will continue preparing for our upcoming Pop Show Concert at the end of May, on May 23rd!! Auditions for anyone wanting to perform a solo or group number during the pop show will be THIS Thursday after school at the high school. 

Be sure to tell all of your friends and family about the Pop Show. This will be an amazing show featuring all of our classes from the junior high and high school. It is a free concert to attend but donations will be accepted as well! See you there!!!
