The syllabi for Spanish 2 and Spanish 3 are attached to this web page.  They contain general information about my courses.  Detailed information is provided to students (and made available to parents upon request).

Assignments are given on a daily basis.

I prepare weekly/biweekly lesson plans that address the concepts and vocabulary that we will be working on in that time period (usually two weeks).  Each unit  contains:

1.  New concepts and vocabulary.

2.  Expanded learning in concepts previously covered.

3.  Reviews of previously learned materials to keep it fresh in the students' minds.

As we progress in lessons, I may eliminate some planned assignments if I see that students have sufficiently learned those concepts.  To the alternative, I may add additional assignments if I see that students have not mastered the concepts.

Every two weeks, a new topic or area is studied.  An appropriate lesson plan is developed and implemented.  For the second semester of the 2018/2019 academic year, the following areas will be studied for both Spanish 2 and Spanish 3.  Although the areas look similar, the material will be studied at a much greater depth in Spanish 3 class  as compared to in the Spanish 2 classes.

The topics planned for the second semester of the 2018/2019 academic year are:

  1. Air travel and other forms of transportation
  2. Direct and indirect objects
  3. Vacation activities
  4. The preterite tense
  5. Sporting events, athletes, staying healthy
  6. Daily routines
  7. Reflexive verbs
  8. The Present Progressive tense
  9. Clothes and shopping
  10. Irregular "Yo" verbs
  11. Pronouns after prepositions
  12. Stem changing verbs
  13. The imperfect tense
  14. Cultural studies of Hispanic countries
