Welcome Wollam Warrior families! My name is Mrs. Sullivan, and I am the Music Teacher at RJW.  I teach all K-5 students and have the privilege of seeing your little one grow, and grow to love music, over the years that they spend here.  I will explore the world of music with your child, sharing a deep appreciation and enjoyment, while teaching them the beginning skills of a musician. 

Music is essential to life. It's not just for the select musically gifted; music is for everyone! All of us would be able to name a favorite song, artist, or musical style. Music has the ability to influence our mood, and invoke feelings of excitement, happiness, thoughtfulness, peacefulness, or motivation. I encourage you to share your music with your child and explore new music together. If you have any experience playing instruments, show your child your instrument, even if you don't remember how to play it! They will think you are a rock star. Sing with your child, even if you think you sound bad. Children love to be sang to.  Listen to different kinds of music, and appreciate music that might sound "funny."  Music can inspire us to imagine we are in a different time or place or bring us back to a specific memory very quickly.  Music is an expression of art that anyone can enjoy.
