Course Description

AP Physics 1 is an algebra-based, introductory college-level physics course. Students cultivate their understanding of Physics through inquiry-based investigations as they explore these topics: kinematics; dynamics; circular motion and gravitation; energy; momentum; simple harmonic motion; torque and rotational motion.

Required Materials

Below, you will find both the Year-at-a-Glance document and the Syllabus for AP Physics 1.  These documents show what we will cover during each nine weeks and the approximate duration of each section.  Of course, these timelines are subject to change with school events / disruptions, but we'll do our best to stay on track.

There is an in-class textbook, but we will be using a variety of sources.  There is a free textbook (OpenStax) that I will introduce at the beginning of the year, but I highly recommend students get the 5 Steps to a 5 study guide at the link above.  The study guide is not the textbook, and vice versa.
