Welcome to the Academic UIL page! 

Academic UIL is an event that consists of several competitions between multiple schools in the area. There are 17 different events in the competition that students can participate in. 

 

Canvas:

1. Students are now enrolled in a canvas course for Academic UIL. 

      • On the Canvas page, you can find all the study material and event information. 

2. Students will have to complete a variety of assignments/quizzes each week to make sure they are preparing for their events. 

3. The assignments/quizzes are required to complete each week to stay in Academic UIL. 

4. Students can use tutorial time to complete these assignments/quizzes.

      • Though, if your student is in a speaking or writing competition then they might have to complete them for homework. 

 

Requirements for Academic UIL:

1. Must be a 7th or 8th grader 

2. Must be passing all classes (there will be grade checks)

3. Must attend at least one tutorial day per week.

        - Tutorial days are: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays

        - Students must check in with Ms. Andrews before they go to other classrooms for UIL tutorials on Tuesdays 

4. Must be dedicated to studying and preparing for their selected events. 

 

Tutorials:

Tutorials are offered Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursday each week (unless there is a scheduled event for teachers)

Tutorial Time- 3:05- 4:00pm

  • Students must attend at least one tutorial day per week.
        • More than one tutorial day per week is encouraged so each student can better prepare for their event competitions but only one day is required.
