My name is Tabitha Butler, and I am from Galveston, Texas . I graduated from Texas State University in 2007 with a Bachelor’s Degree in English. My husband was in the Army, so I taught first grade in Washington state while we were stationed at Joint Base Lewis McChord. While in Washington, I also obtained my Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Texas - Arlington. When my husband retired from the Army, we moved back to Texas the first chance we had! I began teaching 6th and 7th grade ELA at Odyssey Academy in Galveston, where I've worked for the past 7 years. I also coached volleyball and basketball, and was a co- sponsor for Student Council.

For the 2023-2024 school year, I am most excited about having the opportunity to work with the PALS program and coaching freshman volleyball! I am also thrilled that my son, Logan, will be joining me this year at the high school!

My hobbies include watching my boys play sports (baseball and football),  reading, repurposing furniture, playing volleyball at AVA - (adult league night), attending Astros games, painting, and competing with my boys at places like Top Golf, Dave and Busters, and bowling!
