Peak At The Week:
Monday: Reading the passage "Jimmy Bacca" and working on annotating and understanding the difference between the terms implicit and explicit.
Tuesday: Students will read the passage "Story of an Hour" and demonstrate making inferences about mood by tracking diction and constructing a verbal response with text evidence.
Wednesday: Students will make inferences about visuals used in the text "The Life of the Kayapo" by constructing a verbal response or grading a verbal response with a rubric.
Thursday: Lesson over elements of a story (conflict, climax, chronological order, flashback, foreshadow, plot, climax, resolution) and then students will demonstrate an understanding of elements within a story by reading and constructing a verbal response or grading with rubric.
Friday: There will be a lesson over characterization and then students will read the passage "The Magic Marble" and annotate with a focus on characterization.
