Mr. Garza's Spanish classes

Welcome to Spanish 1and 2  at Santa Fe High School.  My name is Raymundo Garza.  This is my first year at Santa Fe High School.

Previously,  I taught at Alvin High School from 1995 to 2008, which is when I was involved in a motorcycle accident.  I was unable to work for 3 years.  I went back to work in 2012 at Dobie  High School, then Fairview Junior High, followed by Danbury High School.  While at Alvin I coached football, baseball and was the head golf coach for 9 years before my accident.

I graduated from Sam Houston State University  where I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Spanish.  While at Sam I was a pitcher on the baseball team from 91' to 94'.

Spanish was my first language.  When I was a young student I had to go through an ESL program for the first few years of my young education.  While I try to make my class fun and enjoyable, I have high academic standards.  I expect students to work in class.

I have conference 1st. period and teach Spanish 1 2nd-6th periods and Spanish 2-7th period.

I have Tutorials are Mondays and Wednesday after school from 2:45 to 3:15
