Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year!

My name is Dr. Travis Moebes  and I am proud to be teaching at Santa Fe High School. This is my first year at Santa Fe High School. I have credit for teaching 23 years.

Dr. Travis Moebes has a B.S. in Mathematics with Engineering Applications - University of Texas-Austin, a M.S. in Applied Mathematics from Sam Houston State University - Huntsville, an EMBA from UCLA, Pacific, and a PhD in Mathematics - Analytic Topology from the University of Houston.  He was nominated in 1984 for the Fields Medal (Mathematics, International Union of Mathematicians, WARSAW, POLAND) for his work in applying combinatory to Topology and Geophysics. His over 100 publications includes papers in Mathematics, Geophysics, Computer Science, Education and Reliability Analysis in the American Mathematical Society, IEEE, NASA Journals, and RAMS.  He worked for Texaco and Exxon/ Mobil for over 11 years in Oil and Gas Exploration as a Senior Research Specialist in Geophysics.  He joined SAIC in 1987 as a Senior Scientist and was responsible for Reliability Analysis development for commercial and government contracts and business including SAIC's present NASA S&MA contracts.  While at SAIC/NASA he has received three NASA Outstanding Achievement awards.  He is married with two children and three grandchildren.  He is past president of the Southwestern Aerospace Professional Representatives Association in Clear Lake and a member of the Board of Directors of the National Honor Society - Science Division.  He served in the U.S. Army and is a recipient of the Distinguished Eagle Scout Award (given by The National Eagle Scout Association), an Eagle Scout and is active in Boy Scouts of America.  He holds Texas Teacher Certification in mathematics and English.  Dr. Moebes is the author of NASA's, "Intelligent Math Tutor" (IMT).  The IMT is a computer smart book for students and the public to review and catch up on Algebra. He recived a NASA programming award and education subject matter award for developing the IMT.
