I am Mrs. Brown.  I love Savannah Bananas and their motto of #FansFirst!  In 5th Grade this year, our motto will be #KidsFIrst. We will share time learning about reading, writing, words, and American History.  

I have been in education over 30 years.  It is my true calling.  I have a bachelor's degree in education and music from Baylor University and a master's degree in administration from Lamar University.  I have taught grades K-5 and worked with secondary schools.  These include Beaumont ISD, Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, St. Matthews Church of English School in London, Crown Point Elementary in Charlotte, CCISD in League City, and now, I am part of the Kubacak family.  I am excited to get to know all of my students and their families. This will be an amazing year because #LearningIsFun.

PARENT TIP:   At this time, there is not any homework.  We want kids to play outside, spend time with friends and family, and enjoy a great day.  However, we do encourage students to read at home each night and discuss what they read with a family member.  Reading at home builds reading stamina, fluency, and comprehension skills.  Reading should be viewed as a joy and not a "have to" item.  Encourage students to choose books they like from the library to read alongside you.
