Welcome to Kindergarten at Barnett Elementary! My name is Mrs. Sandra Agundez.  I will be your child’s Kindergarten teacher for the 2025-2026 school year.

I have been married for 5 years to Mr. Oscar Agundez. I was born and raised in Pearland, Tx, then moved to Santa Fe, then Dickinson, and now I'm back in my hometown PEARLAND! 

I graduated from Texas A&M University with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. I am certified in Elementary Education, Elementary Reading, Special Education, and ESL. I have been teaching at Santa Fe ISD for 34 years. I have taught First Grade, Pre-K,    PPCD/SOAR and Kindergarten (half day and full day).

I have 2 sons: my oldest son Tyler and his wife Ashlee have been married for 6 years and have 2 children. Daniel is 5 years old and Olivia is 2 years old. Tyler is a Chemical Operator at a Chemical Plant and Ashlee is a nurse at a hospital. My youngest son Colton and his wife Rachel have been married for a year and a half. Colton is a Mechanical Engineer at a Chemical Plant and Rachel is a 3rd grade teacher at Barnett Elementary. 

If I'm not teaching, then I may be participating in one of my favorite  hobbies, which includes, attending exercise classes, power walking, swimming, shopping online, going to the movies, going out to eat, taking a road trip, or reading a book.

I’m so excited to have your child in my Kindergarten class.  It's going to be an amazing school year!
